About Us

Who are WE?
Our association's purpose is to support vulnerable and poor groups in Myanmar and people who have fled the country. The association was founded on July 4, 2019, by people who are all members of a local Baptist church, Burmese or ethnic Norwegian. The association has a large network of contacts within Burma itself and among refugees in neighboring countries.
The board members are: Arild Harvik (Chairman), Peter Ngaidam (Director), Trygve Nedland (Treasurer), Torbjørn H. Andersen (Board Member), and Tawm Mung Ging (Board Member).

Our Association
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to support education and well-being for vulnerable communities. We provide access to formal schooling and vocational education for children and youth from orphaned and economically disadvantaged families, equipping them with skills for a better future. We also offer care and assistance to the elderly, especially those without family and relatives. In addition, we provide emergency humanitarian aid—including food, clean water, medicines, clothing, and shelter—to internally displaced persons and communities affected by wars, conflicts and natural disasters.
Our Priorities
Our priorities focus on addressing the most urgent needs of conflict-affected women and youth. We place strong emphasis on education support, skills development, and livelihood opportunities that promote self-reliance. In times of crisis, such as displacement or natural disasters, we also respond with emergency assistance in collaboration with trusted local partners. By working closely with community groups and grassroots organizations, we ensure that our support reaches those who need it most.
Outreach
Our outreach extends to women, youth, and families affected by conflict, displacement, and insecurity, with a particular focus on vulnerable and refugee communities. Through partnerships with local organizations and community leaders, we provide educational assistance, livelihood support, and humanitarian aid where it is most needed. Each year, we review emerging challenges and adjust our outreach efforts to respond effectively and responsibly to changing circumstances.
