Refugees in Malaysia and Thailand

The flow of refugees out of Mizoram has also resulted in camps in Thailand and Malaysia.
We have provided support to camps on both sides of the border between Thailand and Mizoram. In these camps, the people are mainly from the Karen tribe. In Malaysia, various
ethnic groups represented. We currently do not have ongoing contact with these areas. The number of refugees in Thailand, on both sides of the border varies, estimated at approximately 100,000 people.
In Malaysia, the number is estimated at approximately 200,000.
One-time support has included school supplies, food supplies, tents and medicines. Collaborating partners have included local churches, the Karen Refugee Committee and
International Myanmar Baptist Fellowship.
